Our empowerment philosophy at the Center for Sport, Peace, and Society is simple. We want to expose, equip, engage, and entrust local and global audiences to use sport to make a positive difference in the world.
Through it’s work as implementing partner of the U.S. Department of State Global Sports Mentoring Program, the center has worked with 147 international sports leaders and more than 110 U.S. mentors on five-week exchanges, where the leaders develop Action Plans for sport-based social change in their communities. These plans have contributed to the creation of national sports leagues and federations for women and people with disabilities, impacted legislation to make countries more inclusive and accessible, and directly impacted the lives of 225,000 youth and women around the world.
